Hi. I’m Dr. Peter Percuoco.

I graduated from Hudson High School in 1983 and studied at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and Framingham State University. I received my Doctoral Degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1989. In 1990, I opened Percuoco Chiropractic Office. After a few brief years, I became passionate about the study of Neurology. I studied post graduate clinical neurology for 6 years before taking the Neurology Boards. I received my professional degree in Neurology in 1999 as the Valedictorian of my class. I have held post graduate teaching appointments in Clinical Neurology for 4 institutions; Logan Chiropractic University, Cleveland Chiropractic College, The Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies and the National University of Health Sciences. I have traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States teaching Clinical Neurology to Chiropractic and Medical doctors.
After 24 years of clinical practice, I have learned so much about the damaging effects of emotional stress on human health. In 2012, I started a dream career in motivational speaking providing dynamic presentations on stress to a variety of audiences ranging from Corporate leadership and sales to healthcare and service.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What is Chiropractic Treatment?

Chiropractic is about treating the spine.  Many painful conditions involve issues of abnormal movement of the spine.  Chiropractors use gentle yet precise manipulation of the spine to improve its’ function.  This helps to reduce pain.

  • How long does it take to get better?

This depends on many factors including age, previous injuries, preexisting conditions, etc.  Classically though chiropractic is rehab.  It will take a series of adjustments over a number of weeks to recondition your body.  You will heal best if you take an active part in the process of treatment by doing any prescribed exercises.

  • Do people go to Chiropractors without pain?

Yes.  Most people equate chiropractic treatment with pain and although this is an appropriate assumption it is only half of the story.  The truth is that the spine is in constant communication with the brain.  Improving the function of the spine can have profound effects on the brains’ ability to maintain health.  For those who swear that chiropractic fixed some strange complaint (ear infection, dizziness, headache, anxiety, etc.), it is through the spine-brain connection that the body restored its’ function.

  • Why does medicine have a hard time accepting chiropractic treatment?

This is a question that I cannot answer for you.  You have to examine the facts and make your own assumption.  Chiropractic has been around since 1895 and people who have been under care continue to receive wonderful benefits. It’s funny how professional sports organizations trust million dollar athletes to chiropractors but medicine reports that you could die from a manipulation to the neck.  Over 106,000 people die every year from the medication prescribed by their doctor for a medically diagnosed condition but no deaths were reported from chiropractic treatment. I have performed hundreds of thousands of adjustments over 25 years without incident. To be honest with you most medical physicians were not taught as to the neuroscience behind chiropractic.

  • How long does a chiropractic treatment take?

In our office, the first visit takes about an hour while subsequent visits take approximately 20 minutes.
